A Power of Attorney Notarization appointment is for clients who need a power of attorney document notarized accurately and conveniently. This service is commonly used for financial, legal, medical, or personal matters where one person is authorizing another to act on their behalf.
✅ Common Types of Power of Attorney Documents
General power of attorney
Durable power of attorney
Limited power of attorney
Medical power of attorney
Financial power of attorney
The notary verifies identity, confirms willingness to sign, and completes the notarization. A notary cannot explain the legal effect of your power of attorney or advise whether the form is correct for your needs.
Prepare For Your Appointment:
All signers must present a valid, government-issued photo ID at the time of notarization.
If you do not have an ID you may bring a credible witness: (Someone who you know personally, can attest to your identity, is an impartial party, and has an acceptable form of ID)
Don't Sign Ahead of Time: Wait to sign or date anything on the notarial certificate until you're in front of the Notary.
Check the Document: Read the document carefully for any witness clauses; if it says "witnessed by," you need witnesses. If your document requires one or more witnesses, you must provide them, as your notary cannot be considered a witness on a document they are notarizing.
Ensure the document is filled out. If spaces are intentionally left blank, please put a line through them or write N/A
